Wind Power Plants: ACWA Powers Use Scarlet’s WL-11 on Uzbekistan’s 2500 MW Power Projects

ACWA Power, a world-leading developer, investor and operator of power generation and desalinated water plants with advanced development across 13 countries, play a vital role in the major development of Uzbekistan’s power projects.

ACWA power currently in charge of the two wind power plants at Bukhara, Navoi regions with an aggregate power generation capacity of 500MW  each. The ‘Bash’ and ‘Dzhankeldy’ plants are worth a total investment value of $1.3 billion and are expected to offset 1.6 million tonnes of carbon emissions per year.

The projects will contribute one third of Uzbekistan’s 3GW wind energy targets, supplying 2.7 million households and supports the government’s aims to have 30 percent of its power capacity from renewable sources by 2030.

Scarlet’s WL-11 industrial wind data logger is used to monitor wind data at the  Bukhara project sites. WL-11 is designed to provide an industrial-grade and easy-to-use solution to wind site evaluation and monitoring wind generator performance in real time. It records wind speed, gust, and direction, time and date, temperature, and other important wind parameters.
